RHINOPLASTY PRICE IN BANGKOK: TECHNIQUES & CLINICS 2026

Open, closed, and rib cartilage nose jobs in Bangkok run from ฿18,000 to ฿300,000. See real hospital prices and techniques before you book a consult.

By Ploy Suriyawong

Rhinoplasty in Bangkok sits in a sweet spot for medical travellers: hospital-grade facilities, surgeons who do dozens of noses a week, and a price list that reads like a rounding error compared to London or Sydney. A simple tip refinement starts around ฿18,000. A full open rhinoplasty with rib cartilage can run ฿300,000. Here is what each tier actually gets you, which Bangkok hospitals quote what, and the questions to ask before you hand over a deposit.

HOW MUCH DOES RHINOPLASTY COST IN BANGKOK?

Across the Bangkok clinics we track, published rhinoplasty prices fall into three bands. The entry band, ฿18,000 to ฿35,000, covers closed rhinoplasty and basic silicone implants at surgical hospitals like Meko International, DCH Dr. Chen, and The Klinique. The mid band, ฿80,000 to ฿150,000, is open rhinoplasty with ear cartilage, which most medical travellers end up booking. The top band, ฿200,000 to ฿300,000, covers rib cartilage builds and revision work, where surgeons like Dr. Weerakarn at Meko and the team at APEX Surgery Hospital spend four to six hours in theatre.

Those numbers are the surgeon fee plus hospital, implant, and standard anaesthesia. VAT at 7% is sometimes bundled and sometimes added at checkout, which is the single most common surprise on the final invoice. Always ask for the all-in figure in writing before you fly.

PRICE BREAKDOWN BY TECHNIQUE

  • 01Closed rhinoplasty, silicone implant: ฿18,000 to ฿45,000. Fast, no visible scar, good for a small dorsal lift.
  • 02Open rhinoplasty, silicone + ear cartilage: ฿80,000 to ฿150,000. The default for a reshaped tip plus a defined bridge.
  • 03Open rhinoplasty, rib cartilage: ฿200,000 to ฿300,000. Chosen for stronger projection, revision cases, or when the patient wants an all-autologous build.
  • 04Revision rhinoplasty: from ฿79,000 at Masterpiece Hospital. Price scales with scar tissue, prior implants, and how much structure needs to be rebuilt.
  • 05Tip plasty only: ฿25,000 to ฿60,000. For patients who want a sharper tip without touching the bridge.

The silicone-only end of the scale is popular with first-time patients and local Thai customers. Western medical travellers, on the other hand, mostly book the mid tier because they want the tip grafted with cartilage rather than relying on an implant alone.

REAL PRICES FROM BANGKOK HOSPITALS

These are published rates we have verified from the clinic catalogues. Prices are indicative starting points: your actual quote depends on anatomy, technique, and whether you add septoplasty or an alar reduction.

  • 01APEX Surgery Hospital, Ploenchit: closed rhinoplasty from ฿35,000, open rhinoplasty from ฿120,000, rib cartilage from ฿300,000. 4.9★ from 1,200+ Google reviews.
  • 02Meko International Hospital, Chatuchak: rhinoplasty from ฿18,000 indicative. Dr. Weerakarn is the name most travellers request for revision and cleft cases.
  • 03DCH Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital, East Bangkok: rhinoplasty from ฿18,000 indicative. 5.0★ from 790+ reviews, strong rhinoplasty reputation.
  • 04The Klinique Central Rama 3: rhinoplasty from ฿18,000 indicative, 14 Bangkok branches, surgery centre at Rama I.
  • 05Masterpiece Hospital, Dusit: revision rhinoplasty from ฿79,000, full facelift from ฿150,000 if you combine procedures.

editor's note

Quoted starting prices are for the surgeon fee plus standard theatre time. Rib harvest, longer stays, or add-ons like alar base reduction push the final bill up by ฿10,000 to ฿40,000.

WHAT IS ACTUALLY INCLUDED IN THE QUOTED PRICE?

The invoice format varies by hospital, which is why cheap headline numbers can bite you. Before you confirm, read a line-item estimate that spells out each of these. If something is missing, ask the coordinator to add it or to confirm in writing that it is covered.

  • 01Surgeon fee and operating theatre time
  • 02General anaesthesia and the anaesthetist's fee
  • 03Implant or graft material (silicone, Medpor, or rib cartilage)
  • 04One or two nights of post-op recovery room
  • 05Standard medications and nasal splint
  • 06Follow-up visits, usually one at 7 days and one at 30 days
  • 07VAT 7% (sometimes included, often not)
  • 08Not included: flights, hotel, airport transfers, long-term scar care

OPEN VS CLOSED RHINOPLASTY, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Closed rhinoplasty keeps every incision inside your nostrils. There is no external scar, swelling settles faster, and you can usually fly home within 10 to 14 days. The trade-off is limited access: the surgeon cannot see the tip cartilages as clearly, so it suits a modest dorsal change rather than a full reshape. Open rhinoplasty adds a small incision across the columella, the strip of skin between your nostrils. That scar fades to a hairline over six to twelve months and gives the surgeon full access to rebuild the tip, straighten a deviated septum, and graft cartilage precisely. If you want a visible change rather than a subtle one, open is almost always the right call.

RIB CARTILAGE VS SILICONE IMPLANT: WHICH SHOULD YOU PICK?

Silicone is cheap, predictable in shape, and sits comfortably on top of the native bone. The downsides are long-term: implant exposure, migration, and a slightly higher revision rate at the 10-year mark. Rib cartilage is harvested from your own sixth or seventh rib, carved to shape, and integrates permanently. It feels natural, it will not reject, and it is the standard choice for anyone who already failed a silicone build. The costs reflect the complexity. If this is your first nose and your anatomy is friendly, silicone with an ear cartilage tip is still the mainstream Bangkok choice.

HOW TO PICK A SURGEON IN BANGKOK?

Reviews are helpful but they are not enough on their own. The patients writing them cannot assess surgical technique, only service and recovery experience. Weight the following signals when you narrow down a shortlist.

  • 01Thai Board of Plastic Surgery certification (not just a dermatology or general-practice licence)
  • 02A portfolio of 20+ before-and-after photos matching your anatomy and goal
  • 03Clear English communication, either directly or through a trained coordinator
  • 04A hospital with its own operating theatre, not an outsourced day-surgery arrangement
  • 05A written quote with every line itemised, including anaesthesia and VAT

The Bangkok surgical scene has strong depth in rhinoplasty specifically because so many patients fly in for it. If your shortlisted surgeon flinches at any of the questions above, pick the next one on your list.

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU STAY IN BANGKOK FOR A NOSE JOB?

Plan for 10 to 14 days on the ground for a straightforward open or closed rhinoplasty, longer if you have rib harvest or revision work. The splint comes off at day seven. Bruising around the eyes settles over the second week. Flying earlier than day seven is possible but not comfortable: cabin pressure plus a swollen nose is a bad combination. Book accommodation near your clinic rather than in a touristy area, because you will not want a 45-minute taxi for every follow-up. Pair the trip with lighter aesthetic add-ons during the quieter days: a laser touch-up for post-op pigmentation at week two, or a Rejuran skin booster to help the healing skin on your bridge, if your surgeon clears it.

CAN I COMBINE RHINOPLASTY WITH OTHER PROCEDURES?

Yes, and most of the Bangkok hospitals above do combined packages. Common pairings are chin augmentation (balances the profile), under-eye bag removal (available at Masterpiece from ฿29,000), and lip filler two to three weeks post-op once swelling has settled. If you only want a mild tip refinement, consider whether non-surgical filler contouring buys you a year of road-testing the look before you commit to surgery. Combining Botox for the lifted-tip effect is another low-cost option covered in our Botox vs filler guide.

IS RHINOPLASTY IN BANGKOK WORTH IT?

If you need rib cartilage, revision work, or a complex reshape, Bangkok is one of the strongest value destinations in the world: hospital-grade facilities, experienced surgeons, and a total trip cost (surgery, flights, 14 days of hotel) that still comes in under what a mid-tier clinic in Melbourne or London charges for the surgery alone. If you want a 10-minute non-surgical tweak, you probably do not need to fly at all. Everything between those two poles is where you should spend most of your research time.
